so this is my last post about gay marriage so i just wanted to summarize what i thought. i dont understand why two people who are head over heels in love with each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together cant get married because they are the same sex. it just doesnt seem fair to me. i havent heard a valid reason why two people shouldnt marry other than they cant produce? or that the word marriage is between a man and a woman. who the heck are you to define a word. its like someone coming up to you and say you dont love someone. how are you going to tell someone they cant be in love with another person. i think that gay people are generally happier than straight couples. do you really think that just because if someone cant produce than our population is going to go down. well i have news for you anyway there are way to many people on earth. so maybe there should be more gay couples. what about the children that have been moved from home to home because they dont have a suitable home to live in? a gay couple could adopt them and make them their child. the word civil union isnt enough because you dont get all the benefits of the word marriage. it may just be me and the people ive grown up around but it seems to me that 98% of the people i talk to want gay marriage to be legalized. i just wish everyone had the same rights, the world would be such a happy place.
when i was first reading this i was getting upset because i thought this person truly felt like this but once i read further i realized it was a joke. but some people do feel like what was said. some people truly think that without a mother and a father a child isnt going to be normal. i think there are more single parents out there then there are couples. in this day and age everyone gets a divorce. i dont understand why people think its okay to compare to people getting married to a person marring a cat? like seriously its a cat no sane person is going to want to marry a cat. it doesnt have feelings, it cant talk back, and its not a human . Two people who do have feelings and can talk back but are the same sex cant have the same rights as two heterosexual couples. i find it so ridiculous.
“if you dont support gay marriage then dont marry a gay person” i couldnt have said it better myself. this video basically explains itself but i want to say i was suprised to know that the civil rights movement and the gay marriage movement were started at the same time. Maybe some day itll be in our textbooks and we will be learning about people who fought for their rights and got them.
I am personally excited for the gay marriage forum, and i hope one certain man is there. Someone asked him a question last year and he responded with ” if we legalize gay marriage then what stops people from wanting to marry an animal.” Okay, we get it you want to be a wise-guy, but seriously what SANE human bein would want to marry an animal. You cant have personal feelings / relations with a animal like you can with a human. Yes, there are people out there that are IN LOVE with their animals but that doesnt mean one day their going to be like hey let me marry my cat. If you dont support gay marriage at least have a good reason, instead of something so silly as “because what stops them from wanting to marry an animal.”
Reading this article made me smile, but the main reason i wanted to post this was because of what mayor bloomberg said. He said that “he would stop stop donating to the republicans who didntsupport the measure.” Finally someone is putting their foot down and saying someone needs to do something about this, and now seeing that the majority of new york wants gay marriage legalized i hope to see it legalized before i graduate from college.
OKAY can people tell me how its OKAY for first COUSINSSSS ! to marry but not okay for two same sex people who clearly arent family members? America you are one confusing country. It seems to me that your promoting people to marry their family members instead of the same sex. just crazyy.
Today someone asked me why i support gay marriage and why am i doing my tumblr on it. I just looked at them like they had five heads. i support gay marriage because in my heart thats what i feel is right. I happen to have a gay bestfriend, he is the sweetest, nicest, genourous, most loving person in the world. Now people may say well yeah that sounds like a typical gay man, but its not. I have met gay men and woman out there that were just plain rude and disrespectful. I didnt take offense to it because they way gay men and women get treated is disgusting. Its like if someone gets bullied a lot, there going to have to start putting up walls and fighting back. I support gay marriage just because i think its right, and people should be able to love whomever they choose ( MAN OR WOMAN ) !
how would you feel if some person said, “oh your daughter is gay, yeah thats not allowed” you would be furious. Thats how a lot of families out there feel because one of thier family members are told they arent allowed to marry the person of their dreams. What if a woman has been dreaming of her wedding day since she was 3 but was in love with a woman? how could you take away someones human rights because of “law”?
