Why the word “marriage” isn’t civil union enough?
The word marriage is the only thing legally binding, if your just in a civil union with someone its not technically recognizedby the law. If something happens to your husband/wife you can receive their benefits, if and only if you are a man and a woman. But what if someone is gay and has been gay for their whole life then what? All the benefits will go to their family, no matter how long you’ve been with that person.
